STUFFED FRENCH BREAD | |
1 loaf (16 oz.) French bread 8 oz. bulk pork sausage 1/3 c. onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 eggs 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard 2 tbsp. parsley, chopped 3/4 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1 tsp. black pepper, freshly ground Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice bread in half lengthwise and slightly hollow out each half. Reserve bread crumbs. Cook sausage, onion and garlic over medium heat until sausage is brown; drain. In large bowl combine sausage mixture, eggs, reserved bread crumbs, mustard, parsley, Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese and pepper; mix well. Spread mixture evenly over the inside of each bread half. Wrap loaf in foil. Bake foil 35 minutes. Cut into 1 inch slices. Makes 16 slices. |
