CRUNCH CAKE 
2 c. all purpose flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. instant coffee
2 unbeaten eggs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Crisco
2 tbsp. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla

Put flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and coffee in a bowl. Add 3/4 of the milk and shortening and molasses. Beat for 2 minutes on slow with electric beater, then add eggs, vanilla and rest of milk; beat 2 minutes. Put in pan and bake for 35 to 45 minutes.

CRUNCH FOR CAKE:

2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Cut butter, flour and brown sugar. Make a crumb mixture. Add nuts. Place in a shallow pan (small). Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool, break in pieces. Sprinkle on top of frosting.

FROSTING:

2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. confectionery sugar
2 tbsp. cream or milk
1 tsp. instant coffee
1/2 tsp. vanilla
