HAL'S GERMAN STEW 
2 to 4 lb. stew meat
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 cup water
3 large sweet onions, cut up
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. mustard
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 (15 oz.) can peas
4 medium potatoes, cut up
8 oz. baby carrots
1 cup ketchup

Add a little oil to a large pot or Dutch oven and brown meat (about 20 minutes). Drain fat. Add all other ingredients and simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

This is a delicious recipe for stew! It's hearty, flavorful and not too difficult to make. The amount of meat you use can be adjusted depending on the number of people that will be eating it. I like to use chuck roast but any cut of steak will work as well. This recipe is perfect for a cold winter day when you want something filling and comforting.
