3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
1 c. hot water
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger

Mix first five ingredients in order given. Sift all the dry ingredients together. Add to the first mixture; mix well. Pour into 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
