CABBAGE ROLLS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. ground pork 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1 lg. egg 1/2 c. grated onion 1 c. uncooked rice 1/2 tsp. dill seeds 1 med. size cabbage 1 can tomato soup 1 lg can sauerkraut 1 stalk celery Combine ground meat, egg, seasonings, and rice precooked (equal 2 cups). Core cabbage. Parboil about 20 minutes covered. Separate leaves, when cool. Stuff with meat mixture and roll up. In a large kettle place a layer of sauerkraut, then a layer of cabbage rolls. Repeat until all used. Slice celery and onion on top, add dill seed, pour tomato soup and hot water to cover, cook over medium heat, about 2 hours. Season to taste. |
