CHERRY COFFEE CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Beat well. Add dry ingredients and then vanilla. Spread 3/4 of the batter in a greased deep sided cookie sheet. Top with a can of cherry pie filling that has been mixed with 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring. Drop remaining batter hit and miss over the top. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and glaze.

GLAZE:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Add enough powdered sugar to make a thin glaze.
