BEEF BURGUNDY | |
1/4 c. oil 3 lbs. lean beef, cubed 3 tbsp. flour 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. thyme 1 c. dry red wine 1 can beef broth or 1 cube beef broth plus 2 c. hot water 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced 2 onions, chopped thick Brown beef in oil in a heavy pan. Add next four ingredients. Put into a 2 quart casserole. Add wine and broth. Cover. Bake for 2 hours at 325 degrees. Add mushrooms and onions. Bake another 2 hours. Serves 6. |
