COFFEE BARS 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. cold strong coffee
1/2 c. nutmeats

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with coffee to creamed mixture. Add vanilla and nut meats. Pour into two 9x13 inch cake pans and bake 25 minutes at 325 degrees.

Frost bars with: 4 tbsp. butter 1/4 c. hot coffee Dash of salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together.
