HOT FUDGE SYRUP FOR ICE CREAM 
1/2 c. butter
4 (1 oz.) sqs. unsweetened chocolate
3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lg. can Carnation evaporated milk

In saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter on stove at medium heat. Slowly add sugar, a little at a time. Add the salt, then the can of milk, slowly. Cook on medium heat until it comes to a boil. Let it boil gently about 3 or 4 minutes. Take off stove and serve on ice cream.

This recipe is a family favorite, and a must, with homemade ice cream. This makes a lot, so I often cut the recipe in half.
