“APPLE SAUCE CAKE” IS IN:

APPLE SAUCE CAKE 
1/2 cup butter
1 cup dark corn syrup
2 cup raisins
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves and nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cocoa

Remove butter from refrigerator 20 minutes before mixing (butter should be firm, not soft, but soft enough to beat). Alternatively, non-hydrogenated vegetable shortening may be used.

Beat butter until light. Add syrup, vanilla and raisins and mix well. Sift flour, spices and salt together. Add soda and cocoa to applesauce. Add flour an butterscotch mixtures alternately to pudding. Pour into a greased 2x8x12-inch baking pan.

Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for forty-five minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Remove cake from pan after 5 minutes and cool on wire rack. Ice with Confectioners Icing.

This makes a large cake.
