ICED GREEN TOMATO PICKLES 
Soak for 24 hours, 7 pounds of sliced green tomatoes in 2 gallons of water, to which 3 cupsful of lime have been added and dissolved. Drain and soak in fresh water for 4 hours, changing the water every hour. Drain.

Place in a kettle: 3 pts. vinegar 1 tsp. each of cloves, ginger, allspice, celery seed, mace & cinnamon

Bring syrup to a boil. Pour syrup over tomatoes and let stand overnight. Next morning, let boil for 1 hour, then seal in glass jars.
