REFRIGERATOR ROLLS 
1 c hot water
1 t salt
1 1/2 lbs. shortening
1/4 c sugar
1 cake yeast
2 T lukewarm water
1 egg, well beaten
3 3/4 c flour, sifted

Combine hot water, salt, shortening and sugar. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast to lukewarm water and let soften, the add to cooled mixture. Add beaten egg, half of the flour and beat well. Stir in more flour, enough to make dough easy to handle. Grease top of dough, cover with wax paper and a dish towel held by rubber bands. Store in refrigerator.

Cut off dough as needed, letting it stand in a warm place about 1 hour before baking. Shape into rolls, then arrange in pans and let rise.

Bake at 425°F for 12-15 minutes.
