HALLOWEEN HAYSTACKS | |
1 1/2 quarts popped popcorn 1 cup chow mein noodles 1 (12 oz.) bag butterscotch pieces 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter REGULAR METHOD: In a large bowl combine popped popcorn and chow mein noodles. Melt butterscotch pieces over hot, not boiling water. stirring constantly until smooth, about 3 to 5 minutes. Blend in peanut butter. Pour mixture over the popcorn; stir to coat well. Drop by heaping tablespoon onto a waxed paper lined cookie sheet. When firm, store in tightly covered container. MICROWAVE METHOD: Pop microwave popcorn according to package directions. In a large bowl mix popcorn with chow mein noodles. In a 4-cup glass measure, combine butterscotch pieces and peanut butter. Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes or until soft. Stir until smooth. Pour over popcorn stir to coat well. Shape as above directions. Makes 24 haystacks. Submitted by: Carol Bradley |
