SUNSHINE DREAM BARS 
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. grated lemon rind
1/4 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 eggs
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Sift the flour with 1/3 cup sugar into a bowl and stir in 2 teaspoons lemon rind. Cut in the butter and 1/4 cup cream cheese until particles are fine. Press into well-greased 9 x 13 inch shallow baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cream remaining cream cheese with remaining sugar in a bowl until smooth. blend in the eggs, one at a time. Blend in remaining lemon rind and lemon juice and spread over baked mixture.

GOLDEN NUT TOPPING:

2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts

Beat the eggs with vanilla in a bowl until foamy. Add brown sugar gradually and beat well. Sift the flour with baking powder and salt and stir into egg mixture. Stir in 3/4 cup walnuts and spoon over cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into bars with a damp knife. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving, if desired. 3 dozen.
