2 c. self rising flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Mix flour, sugar, and shortening. Add vanilla and eggs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

CARAMEL ICING:

1 c. light brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. sweet milk

Mix and boil 3 minutes. Remove from heat and beat until cool enough to spread.
