HOT CHEESY BISCUITS 
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 to 3/4 tsp. red pepper
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
1 c. buttermilk

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and red pepper; cut in shortening and cheese until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Yields about 3 dozen.
