CHEESY DROP BISCUITS 
8 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. shortening
4 c. milk
1 c. shredded extra sharp Cheddar cheese
Apple butter

Preheat oven to 450°F.

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in milk and cheese until a soft dough forms.

Drop dough by 1/3 cupfuls, 1 inch apart on three ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a light golden brown.

Yield: 32 biscuits.
