MATT'S CINNAMON GRILLED HAM AND
SWISS

Try Mozzarella or Mexican blend "fiesta" cheese, etc. for variety!

2 slices bread (White bread works best, but wheat works well too)
5 slices ham (Honey ham works best)
4 Slices Swiss Cheese (Shredded cheese also works)
cinnamon or cinnamon sugar
butter

Place skillet on stove, turn stove burner on and to high, let warm up.

Cut two slices of cheese in half, so you have 4 halves and 2 full slices.

Butter one side of each slice and add cinnamon or cinnamon sugar. Once burner is warm/hot turn burner to medium heat. Put once slice of bread in the skillet, butter side down so the non-buttered side is up.

Place one full slice of Swiss cheese on the non-buttered side. Then add one slice of Ham. Place one half slice of Swiss cheese and then the second slice of Ham. Alternate accordingly and after all Ham slices have been placed, add the second full slice of Swiss then add the second slice of bread, buttered side up.

Grill until cheese is melted or until bread is golden brown.

Matt's Cinnamon Grilled Ham and Swiss

Matt, this was delicious! Funny how I grew up eating cinnamon toast yet never considered making a grilled ham and cheese using the same ingredients/method. The cinnamon adds a nice warmth and PERFECTLY compliments the ham especially. I used thin slices of honey ham, sharp Cheddar cheese, and sprinkled a little brown sugar over the cinnamon. Next time I will try it with Swiss cheese. This recipe will forever change how our grilled ham and cheese sandwiches are made. (Why settle for plain buttered bread when we could be indulging in this lovely treat?) Thank you for sharing! :-)
