FOOTHILL HOUSE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | |
1 c. unsalted butter 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 egg, room temperature 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1 c. walnuts, chopped 1 c. powdered sugar 1 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 tsp. salt Cream butter, add brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt. Blend into butter mixture. Fold in chips and walnuts. Refrigerate until firm. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheets. Break off small pieces of dough, roll between palms to 1 inch rounds. Dredge rounds in powdered sugar. Arrange on prepared sheets, spacing at least 2 inches apart. Bake 10 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes on sheets. Transfer to racks to cool. Makes 6 dozen. |
