MOTHER'S HOMEMADE HAND SOAP | |
5 lbs. grease 1/2 c. hot water 1/4 c. ammonia 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 qt. cold water 1/2 c. powdered Borax 1 can lye Process: Put entire can of lye in 1 quart cold water and stir until dissolved. then dissolve Borax, sugar and salt in the hot water and add ammonia. Add this to the lye solution and mix well. Allow to get cold. Pour cold lye solution slowly into cold grease, stirring vigorously for 10 minutes. Warm place for 8 days. Makes 8 pounds soap. |
