WATER CHESTNUTS APPETIZER 
1 can water chestnuts
1 lb. bacon

SAUCE:

1/3 c. catsup
1/2 c. white sugar

Drain water chestnuts and cut bacon slices in half. Roll water chestnuts up in 1/2 slice of bacon and stick with a toothpick. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees. Pour off fat.

SAUCE: Mix together in saucepan on the stove. Cook until sugar melts. Pour over chestnuts and bacon and continue cooking at 300 degrees for 45 minutes.
