HOMEMADE ONION RINGS | |
Preheat cooking oil to 375 degrees. Slice 3 or 4 large Spanish onions. Mix: 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 2 tsp. oil 4 eggs Blend until the batter is creamy and all of the lumps are gone. While mixing add sugar until the batter tastes sweet. Using a fork dip the onion slices one by one into the batter making sure the whole slice is covered with batter. Drain off the excess then lay the onions into the fat in a single layer. Turn the rings over once during frying. Onions are done in 2 to 3 minutes once they turn golden brown. Remove from the fat and lay on a paper towel to drain the excess fat. |
