OKRA AND TOMATOES 
2 lbs. okra
2 c. water
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. bacon drippings
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. pepper

Cut okra. Combine okra, water, onion, vinegar and salt. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Drain. Cook over low heat until all moisture evaporates. Add remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until liquid is gone.
