CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. soft butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream together softened butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Combine unsifted flour, salt and baking soda. Stir into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Add chopped nuts if desired. Drop teaspoonful 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.
