BEST SPAGHETTI SAUCE EVER!
1 lb. sweet Italian sausage
1 (24 oz.) jar marinara sauce (your favorite)
2 (15 oz. ea.) cans diced tomatoes w/ Italian herbs (Hunts)
1 medium yellow onion
2 to 3 cloves of garlic
1/2 tbsp. dried oregano
2 tbsp. dried parsley
2 tbsp. dried basil
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground pepper
1 bottle of good bodied red wine
1 (16 oz.) box pasta noodles

Begin browning sausage at medium to high heat. Dice onion and garlic cloves. When sausage is halfway done toss in onion and garlic and continue cooking until sausage is done.

Note: If sausage is very lean add a little olive oil.

Add the marinara sauce, and draining one can only add both cans of tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes then add dry ingredients. Simmer for another 10 minutes.

Add 1 cup of wine (to start), continue to simmer tasting occasionally to see if any additional seasoning is needed. As sauce reduces continue to add splashes of wine.

When sauce is at a medium consistency after it has simmered for at least 1 hour cook your pasta according to package directions and serve with salad and garlic buttered bread.

Will serve up to 8 people.

Best Spaghetti Sauce Ever!

This recipe is a gem! I made it for my family over the weekend, and everyone raved about it. The sausage was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was just right -- not too thick or too thin. It tasted great with the pasta, and even better with some grated Parmesan cheese on top. My husband says he's never having anything else again! Ha ha.
