FRIED PIE CRUST 
4 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
1/2-1 tsp. salt

Mix flour, salt and shortening. Add buttermilk and work with hands. This makes a stiff dough. Add beaten egg whites, work with hands. Pinch off dough the size of a silver dollar. Flatten and fill with filling. Makes 2 dozen pies.
