CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1 beaten egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 c. pecan halves
1 c. red candied cherries, cut in half
1 c. green candied cherries, cut in half

Cream ingredients as listed. Chill dough 1 hour. Divide into thirds. Make each 1/3 into a roll. Roll 2" diameter. Chill 3 hours (or overnight), cut into 1/8" slices (thicker). Put on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Golden color.
