WASS SCHOOL OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
5 c. flour
3 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. oats
2 c. coconut
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts, chopped

Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and brown sugar. Beat well. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and salt. Add mixture to butter, 1 cup at a time. Stir in oats, coconut, raisins and nuts.

Use ungreased baking pans. Drop spoonfuls of dough and bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes. Store in airtight containers. Makes 10 dozen.

I've been making these cookies for years. I believe I may have found the recipe originally in the Detroit News. My husband loves them if I leave out the coconut and add some chocolate chips. The folks in my bible study love them regardless. :)
