FAVORITE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE 
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate

Cream together until light and fluffy butter, light brown sugar and dark brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla.

Sift together then stir in flour and baking soda. Add chocolate. (It is traditional at this point to sample the batter before proceeding.)

Drop the remaining batter from a teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake the cookies about 8 minutes, 375 degrees. Adjust if necessary.
