SKY HIGH BISCUITS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 c. milk

Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter until consistency of coarse cornmeal. Add egg and milk, stirring quickly and briefly. Knead lightly on floured surface. Roll or pat gently to 1 inch thickness. Cut into biscuits with floured cutter. Place on cookie sheet or in a greased 10 inch iron skillet or 9 inch square pan. Bake 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
