WASHINGTON APPLE CANDY 
2 1/2 cups applesauce, divided
4 env. unflavored gelatin (Knox)
4 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
confectioners' sugar, for rolling

Combine 1 cup applesauce and gelatin. Add 1 1/2 cups applesauce to sugar; combine with gelatin mixture. Cook 15 minutes.

Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts.

Pour into buttered pan; cool. Cut and roll in confectioners' sugar.

Makes 4 dozen.
