OVEN BAKED CARAMEL CORN 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
5 qts. popped corn (from 1 c. unpopped)
1 c. salted peanuts (opt.)

Pop popcorn and keep warm in 2 shallow pans (or large shallow roaster) in a 250 degree oven. Combine sugar, butter, syrup and salt in saucepan. Bring to a slow boil and once boiling, continue for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in soda. Pour immediately over popcorn and nuts (dividing well). Place back in oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Stir once more after removing from oven. Cool and break up. Freezes well.
