BANANA CAKE 
CAKE:

1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. self rising flour
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 bananas, mashed

Cream butter, add sugar gradually. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla and bananas. Bake in two greased and floured layer cake pans, at 350 degrees until done. Let cool. Fill and frost with icing.

Note: use cake recipe for banana bread also.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 lb. confectioner's sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. milk
2/3 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Pinch of salt

Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add the box of sugar, vanilla and nuts. Add milk to spreadable consistency (more if necessary).
