2 c. sugar
2/3 c. corn oil
2 c. flour
2 1/2 c. unpeeled grated apples
2 eggs
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. each cloves, allspice, and nutmeg
2 tsp. vanilla

Sift all dry ingredients together. Add eggs, corn oil and vanilla; beat well. Add nuts. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees. Can ice if desired.

GLAZED ICING:

1/4 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 stick butter

Boil together for a few minutes (5-6) until it coats a spoon. Pour over cake while still hot. Let cake set in pan until cool.
