DEEP DISH TACO SQUARES | |
1 lb. ground beef 2/3 c. mayonnaise 1 onion, chopped 1/2 c. water 2 c. Bisquick baking mix plus 1/2 c. water 1 c. sour cream (I use plain yogurt) 1-2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 1 pkg. taco seasoning 1-2 med. tomatoes, chopped 1/2 c. chopped green pepper or chilies to taste I make a recipe of biscuit dough: 2 cups flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 cup shortening, and 3/4 cup milk. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Brown beef, add onion, saute, add taco seasoning and water. Make up biscuit dough. Pat into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Pressing dough 1/2 inch up sides, layer beef, chopped tomatoes, green pepper. Mix mayonnaise and sour cream, pour over top and sprinkle with shredded cheese. Bake until edges are light brown, 25-30 minutes. Serves 6. I omit peppers and use fresh green chilies. My family doesn't like spicy foods or green pepper! |
