EASY DATE TORTE 
1 (14 oz.) pkg. date bar mix
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 tbsp. butter, melted
1 c. frozen whipped dessert topping, thawed

Combine the crumb portion of the date bar mix and chopped nuts; stir in melted butter. Mix well. Spread on a cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Break up with a fork. Cool and crumble.

Prepare date filling following package directions. Place half the crumb mixture in the bottom of a 10 x 6 x 1 1/3-inch baking dish. Cover with half the dessert topping, then with all the date mixture. Repeat crumb and whipped topping layers. Chill several hours.
