MOTHER'S FIVE FLAVORED POUND
CAKE
 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco (can use butter flavored)
3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. each of the following flavorings: Rum, vanilla, lemon, coconut, butter

Cream butter and sugar, 1 cup at a time. Add flour and baking powder alternating with milk. Add flavorings, then eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees.

GLAZE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. each of above flavorings

Boil in a heavy saucepan until sugar is melted, then pour over hot cake as it comes out of the oven. Cool in pan.
