ANISE DROPS
4 eggs
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 c. all-purpose flour
4 drops of anise oil

Beat eggs with sugar in a medium sized bowl, until mixture is very thick and white (about 12 minutes). Resift the flour and add gradually (1/2 cup at a time), blending after each addition. Stir in anise oil.

Heat 2 cookie sheets lightly and grease with butter, then chill the sheets until completely cold. Drop the dough from a teaspoon about 1 inch apart. Allow to dry overnight at room temperature completely uncovered.

Sprinkle the tops of the dough with a few Nonpariels (decorative sugar beads). Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for about 20 minutes until cookies appear a pale golden brown.
