PARMESAN-VEGETABLE TOSS | |
4 c. broccoli flowerets 4 c. cauliflower flowerets 1 lg. red onion, thinly sliced 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese, grated 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed 1 c. mayonnaise 1 c. salad dressing 16 oz. bacon, cooked crisp & crumbled 1 lg. head lettuce, torn into bite-size pieces 2 c. seasoned croutons 1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained In large bowl, combine broccoli, cauliflower and onion. In another bowl, combine sugar, cheese, salt, basil, mayonnaise and salad dressing. Pour over broccoli/cauliflower mixture and toss well. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Just before serving, add bacon, lettuce, croutons and water chestnuts. Toss lightly. |
