PARMESAN VEGETABLE TOSS 
4 c. broccoli
4 c. cauliflower
1 lg. onion, chopped
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil leaves
2 c. salad dressing
1 lb. bacon, crumbled
1 lg. head lettuce, bite size pieces
2 c. seasoned croutons
8 oz. can water chestnuts

In large bowl bread broccoli and cauliflower into bite size pieces. Combine with onion. In small bowl mix sugar, salad dressing, salt, basil and cheese. Toss vegetables and dressing. Refrigerate overnight. Just before serving, add bacon, lettuce, croutons and water chestnuts. Toss. 20 to 24 servings.
