APPLE FRENCH TOAST 
1/4 c. butter
1 whole egg
1 egg white
1 tbsp. milk
4 slices raisin bread
3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 egg yolk
16 tart apple slices
1 tsp. lemon juice
8 tbsp. brown sugar

Melt butter in 10x15 inch baking pan. Beat 1 whole egg, 1 egg white and milk in shallow dish. Dip raisin bread into egg mixture; place in prepared baking dish. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 minutes.

Turn bread, spread with mixture of cream cheese and egg yolk. Brush apple slices with lemon juice. Toss slices with brown sugar to coat; arrange on toast. Bake for 5 minutes longer. Remove to serving plate. Garnish with light sifting of confectioners' sugar. Serve with maple syrup. Makes 2 servings.
