IMPOSSIBLE FRENCH APPLE PIE | |
The pie that does the impossible by making its own crust. 6 c. tart apples, sliced and pared 1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 1 c. sugar 3/4 c. milk 1/2 c. Bisquick mix 2 eggs 2 tbsp. butter, softened Streusel (below) Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 10 x 1 1/2 inch pie plates. Mix apples and spices; turn into pie plate. Beat remaining ingredients except Streusel until smooth, 15 seconds in a blender, or 1 minute with a hand beater. Pour into plate. Sprinkle with Streusel. Bake until a knife inserted in center comes out clean, 55-60 minutes. STREUSEL: Mix 1 cup Bisquick mix, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1/3 cup packed brown sugar, and 3 tablespoons firm butter until crumbly. |
