BLACK AND WHITE BROWNIES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. nuts (chopped)
2 sq. chocolate (melted)
1/2 tsp. salt

FROSTING:

4 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg white (unbeaten)
1 1/4 c. powdered sugar
4 tsp. milk

Cream sugar, shortening and egg, one at a time. Sift flour and salt. Add to creamed mixture with vanilla and nuts. Divide batter in half. Add melted chocolate to half of batter. Drop by spoon into greased 9x13 pan, black and white alternately. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Frosting: Cream butter, vanilla and unbeaten egg white. Add powdered sugar and milk. Add up to an additional 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar until it is spreadable.
