BACHELOR BUTTONS 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. all-purpose sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter. Add brown sugar; beat well. Add unbeaten egg. Sift together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Fold in vanilla and nuts; chill several hours.

Make small balls. Drop into sugar place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet and press down with fork. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven 8-10 minutes. Yield 12 dozen small cookies.
