HOT WATER CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

Mix dry ingredients and cocoa. Add remaining ingredients, except for hot water. Mix well, then add hot water. Batter will be thin. Bake in 13 x 7 inch pan (smaller will do, but will need more time) for about 1 hour in 325 degree oven.
