SWEET & SOUR MEATBALLS 
2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs or wheat germ
1 beaten egg
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3 tbsp. butter
1 can pineapple chunks (2 c.)
1 c. pineapple juice
1/3 c. vinegar
6 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/3 c. water
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 green pepper in strips
4 tomatoes in wedges

Combine first 5 ingredients, form into walnut sized meatballs and brown in the butter in a heavy skillet. When good and brown, add the next 5 ingredients and heat. Combine the cornstarch with the water and blend with the mixture in the skillet, tipping the pan to mix evenly. Cook until thickened.

Just before serving, add the green pepper and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Add tomatoes at the last minute. Serve on hot rice. Serves 8.
