4 c. flour 1 c. shortening 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. butter Work above ingredients together as you would for pie crust. Add 1 1/2 cups ice water. Chill overnight. Heat oven to 425 degrees. On floured surface, roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thick or a little less. Cut into strips 1 inch wide and 4-6 inches long. Wrap each strip onto a foil covered clothes pin and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from clothes pin. Fill with cream filling. CREAM FILLING: 1 lg. box pudding (not instant) 1 1/2 c. milk Mix together and cook until thick. Cool. Mix 3/4 cup butter, 3/4 cup shortening with 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar. Add pudding and beat until thick and creamy. I use a Super Shooter to put the filling into the shells. You could also use a cookie press with a pointed end. |
