BANANA BREAD | |
1 c. sugar 1/3 c. butter, softened 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. mashed very ripe bananas (approximately 4 to 5 medium bananas) 1/3 c. water 1 2/3 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) Can be assembled (in order listed) and baked in bread machine on "batter breads" setting. Or preheat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of regular size loaf pan. Mix ingredients in order listed, mixing well between each ingredient. Pour into pan. Bake until toothpick comes out clean (8-inch pan 1 1/4 hours, 9-inch pan 55 to 60 minutes). Cool 5 minutes. Loosen from sides of pan and remove. Cool completely before slicing. |
