HOT FUDGE PUDDIN' CAKE 
1 c. flour, all-purpose
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar
6 tbsp. cocoa, divided
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
1 c. brown sugar

Sift dry ingredients (only 2 tablespoons cocoa). Add milk, shortening, and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Add nuts, if desired.

Pour in greased 1 quart shallow baking dish. Mix brown sugar with rest of cocoa (4 tablespoons) and sprinkle over the batter. Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water slowly over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
