CARAMEL BAR 
1 pkg. caramels
7 tbsp. milk or cream
1 c. pecans, chopped
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt

CRUST:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. shortening

Mix crust thoroughly and pat 3/4 of dough into cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and put caramel mixture on the crust. Crumble remaining dough over top and return to the oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes longer.
